Mechatron features three distinct game modes:
- ARCADE -- Clear wave after wave of enemies while rescuing humans.
- SURVIVAL -- Fight an endless stream of enemies as the difficulty and maximum enemy count rise.
- WHOMPER - Hold the line and defend the last human colony from an enemy onslaught.
Play Mechatron with two controllers at once: one for movement and the other for shooting. Prefer a single controller? That works too.
Controller couplers from 8-Bit Widgets are recommended for two-controller play. They are sold separately and are not included with Mechatron.
Your Mechatron digital package includes:
- The game rom (.bin and .cfg files)
- A PDF manual
- Files for Intellivision Sprint
Mechatron has been tested on Intellivision Sprint, an original Intellivision with LTO Flash!, the jzIntv emulator, and MiSTer FPGA with the latest Intellivision core.
JLP support is required. Older emulators and multicarts without JLP support, such as Nostalgia and Cuttle Cart, will not run the game.

You should have an option to use the controller upsidedown. Operating the Intellivision disc one-handed is easier that way.
There is no such thing as JLP bank switching. JLP cartridges use Mattel ECS page switching for larger roms. JLP support is required if your program uses JLP hadware acceleration. How large is the rom file?
You are absolutely right, in which ”JLP bankswitching” is in fact Mattel-style bankswitching.
The term is being used loosely here to facilitate buyer understanding of the environment required to run the game.
The rom is large enough not to fit a regular cart. The game does also use math acceleration.
